RESTORATION ROME: FAMILIES SOUGHT TO PROVIDE FOSTER CARE TO TEENS

There is a great need at this time for families to provide foster care to teens in Northwest Georgia. That is according to Mary Margaret Mauer, Co-Founder of Restoration Rome, a local non-profit which serves as a hub for foster care and family restoration services. She says that when foster families are not available locally, children have to leave this community for care.

Mauer indicates that with the right understanding and the right training, foster families can really have a positive impact on teenagers’ lives.

Those unable to serve as a foster family may volunteer to provide respite for existing foster families, says Mauer, who adds that support is also needed for youth ages 18-24 who are aging out of foster care.

Families and individuals interested in serving children in foster care are urged by Mauer to visit www.restorationrome.org for more information.
