GEORGIA STATE PARKS WELCOME VISITORS TO GO CAMPING… AND COOL OFF FROM THE SUMMER HEAT!

Local schools will soon be back in session, which means that time is limited for families to enjoy Summer adventures. Those in search of activities close to home are urged by Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites, to go camping at a state park. Hatcher asserts that the parks have been busy this summer.

Not into camping? Book a cabin or a yurt, suggests Hatcher. She adds that these accommodations are ideal for those who are more into ‘glamping’.

Many of the parks offer places to cool down from the Summer heat to include swimming beaches, splash pads, and pools, says Hatcher.
