The First Friday concert series will continue this Friday night at 7 pm on the Town Green in downtown Rome. The headliner for the August show will be Weekend Getaway, who will perform a combination of soul, funk, jazz, and ‘Rhythm and Groove’. Anderlan will be the opening act.
Megan Treglown, the Marketing and Special Events Manager for the Rome Downtown Development Authority, says that vendors will offer refreshment from the summer heat to include drinks and ice cream.
First Friday attendees are encouraged by Treglown to support the businesses in downtown Rome that have made the event possible.
In addition to BID, or the downtown Business Improvement District, Georgia Pacific and Walk-In Urgent Care, Urgent Team have pitched in their support of the event, adds Treglown.

First Friday concerts are held on the Town Green on the first Friday of every month from June through September. The last concert of 2023 on September 1st will be headlined by Guardians of the Jukebox.
