KICKBACK TO THE COMMUNITY IS BACK AT FORD, GITTINGS & KANE JEWELERS

Kickback to the Community, a silent auction of fine jewelry to benefit local charities, has returned to Ford, Gittings & Kane Jewelers, 312 Broad Street in downtown Rome.

Jan Ferguson, FGK representative, attests that this year’s Kickback is bigger than ever as the store celebrates its 65th anniversary. Bid cards are $10 apiece and are available at the store or via participating charities; that will be a direct donation to the charity of the bidder’s choice. Additionally, 10 percent of the purchase price of all items in the auction will benefit charities.

Shoppers are permitted, and even encouraged, to purchase multiple bid cards to benefit multiple charities, says Ferguson.

Kickback not only raises money for local charities, it also raises awareness of the services that they provide to the community, adds Ferguson.

Bidding in this year’s auction is underway and will end promptly at 2 pm on Saturday, August 19th. The starting bids are 50 percent off the regular price, and the buy-it-now price is 25 percent off.
