ATLANTA BRAVES COMPLETE THREE-GAME SWEEP OF THE NEW YORK YANKEES WITH SHUT OUT WIN IN SERIES FINALE

The Atlanta Braves completed a three-game sweep of the New York Yankees with a 2-0 victory in the series finale on Wednesday night at Truist Park; that marked the Braves’ second straight shutout win over the Yankees.

Eddie Rosario led the Braves offensively with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning.

Charlie Morton secured the win for Atlanta after surrendering just four hits, walking one, and striking out 10 in six scoreless innings. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Randy Vasquez was charged with the loss for New York.

The National League East-leading Braves improved their MLB-best record to 78-42 on the 2023 regular season. They are off tonight and will continue their current nine-game homestand over the weekend with three games against the San Francisco Giants. First pitch of Friday night’s series opener is scheduled for 7:20 pm at Truist Park. That outing will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Tune into WLAQ for the play-by-play action in the rest of that weekend series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
