The 2023 Health Initiative for Men + Women will be held on Saturday from 8 am to noon at the Floyd County Health Department, located at 16 East 12th Street in Rome. The annual event will be presented by the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia and Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition, with support of other community partners.
Erin Hernandez, President and CEO of the Cancer Coalition, attests that the Initiative is a collaborative event focused on the health and well-being of all men and women. Health screenings will be offered, as well as health-related information from the event vendors. A wide variety of social services will be represented this year, adds Hernadez.
People without access to healthcare may attend the event for screenings and additional assistance if it is needed, attests Hernandez.
Mammograms must be scheduled in advance by calling (706) 509-6840 and choosing option one.
