ONLINE ORDERS ACCEPTED THROUGH AUGUST 27TH FOR 55TH ANNUAL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LABOR DAY BARBECUE, SET FOR SEPTEMBER 4TH

Less than two weeks remain until the 55th annual Knights of Columbus Labor Day Barbecue. The event is set for Monday, September 4th from 10 am until 2 pm (or until food runs out) at the Rome Civic Center. Onsite dining returns for this year! Orders may be placed in advance online at www.romebbq.com through August 27th.

Kevin Wall, a member of the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus, indicates that scheduled pickup times will be given to those who place orders online. They may get those orders to go or stay awhile and socialize.

A new menu item is being introduced for 2023 – chicken salad. Here is the full menu (and prices) from the Knights:

• Half rack of ribs, $15.

• Pound of pulled beef or pork barbecue, $12.

• Quart of Brunswick stew, $12

• Half a chicken, $12.

• Plate with barbecue and fixings, $12.

• A quart of baked beans, $10.

• Pint of homemade chicken salad, $6 (introductory price)

Greg Armstrong, barbecue chairman, says that proceeds from the event will support local charities.

The Knights have donated close to $300,000 to area nonprofits since the barbecue began over half a century ago.
