ATLANTA BRAVES PICK UP TUESDAY NIGHT WIN IN DENVER, COLORADO OVER THE ROCKIES

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Colorado Rockies 3-1 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Coors Field out in Denver, Colorado. That allowed Atlanta to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Marcell Ozuna got the Braves on the board with a home run to lead off the top of the second inning; it was his 30th homer of the season.

Sean Murphy also had an RBI single in the second. The Rockies scored their lone run of the evening during the bottom of that inning on a ground out from Harold Castro. Ozuna had an RBI single in the fifth, and the Braves beat the Rockies, again, by a final score of 3-1.

Charlie Morton was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just one run and three hits, walked two, and struck out eight in six innings. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Peter Lambert was charged with the loss for Colorado.

The National League East-leading Braves improved their MLB-best record to 86-45 on the 2023 season. The Rockies remain in last place of the NL West at 49-83. The teams will meet in their series finale tonight. The first pitch is set for 8:40 pm Eastern.
