COMMUNITY INVITED TO PREVIEW OF FLOYD COUNTY TEEN MAZE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 5TH, LOCAL NINTH GRADERS TO GO THROUGH THE MAZE ON SEPTEMBER 6TH AND 7TH

The community is invited to a preview of the Floyd County Teen Maze set for Tuesday, September 5th from 6 pm until 7 pm in the main gym of Georgia Highlands College’s Rome campus, 3175 Cedartown Highway in Rome.

The Teen Maze, presented annually by the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth, is geared towards local ninth graders. Students learn, via simulations of various life experiences, how the choices that they make in high school can affect the rest of their lives. The ultimate goal for those who pass through the maze is to make it to graduation, indicates LaDonna Collins, RFCCCY Executive Director.

Teen Maze participants will pick scenarios which involve risky behaviors and will experience consequences such as jail, pregnancy, STDs, and even death.

More than 300 volunteers are joining forces to make this event possible, says Collins.

Collins invites anyone that has never experienced the Teen Maze to attend the Preview Night on September 5th.

Local ninth grade students will go through the Teen Maze on Wednesday and Thursday, September 6th and 7th.
