Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites will observe Your State Parks Day as a part of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 23rd.
Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, says that as part of this observance, volunteer projects will be conducted across the state at places like the Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site in Cartersville, New Echota State Historic Site in Calhoun, and F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain.

And on that same day, September 23rd, James H. ‘Sloppy’ Floyd State Park in Summerville will host Outdoor Adventure Day. That will be highlighted by a Kids’ Fishing Rodeo. Details are on the website.
