The National League East Champion Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off-day on Thursday and will continue their current seven-game road trip this evening with the opener of a three-game division set in Miami, FL versus the Marlins. Bryce Elder will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Johnny Cueto will be on the mound for Miami. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm. The game will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Tune into WLAQ for the play-by-play story of the rest of the weekend series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Braves secured their sixth straight NL East title (and 23rd division title overall) on Wednesday night with a victory in Philadelphia over the Phillies. They head into this weekend’s series in Miami with an MLB-best record of 96-50. The third-place Marlins are 75-72.
