Georgia gas price average continues to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.15 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight).
Monday’s state average is 9 cents less than a week ago, 42 cents less than a month ago, and 6 cents less than this time last year. It now costs an average of $47.25 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are paying an average of almost $1.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.
“Georgia pump prices continue to fall like the leaves,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Several factors continue to impact lower gas prices, such as slack demand, cheaper oil prices, and Governor Kemp’s suspension of the state’s gas tax.”
Despite the Autumn Colors, Drivers Find More Green in Their Wallets
Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline decreased by 11 cents to $3.70 (subject to change overnight). According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand dropped significantly from 8.62 to 8.01 million barrels a day last week. On the other hand, total domestic gasoline stocks increased substantially by 6.5 million barrels to 227 million barrels. Growing supply, amid low demand, has pushed pump prices down. If oil prices continue to decline, drivers can expect further price drops at the pump in the weeks ahead.
Regional Prices:
The most expensive Georgia metro markets – are Savannah ($3.26), Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.21), and Atlanta ($3.20).
The least expensive Georgia metro markets – are Dalton ($3.01), Valdosta ($2.99), and Albany ($2.95).
