HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES TO BE HELD IN DOWNTOWN ROME, AT RIDGE FERRY PARK ON OCTOBER 31ST

Halloween is one week away. There will be a couple of opportunities for kids to safely enjoy trick or treating and other festivities in downtown Rome next Tuesday, October 31st.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm. Businesses will hand out candy to kids ages 12 and under, enthuses Aundi Lesley, Director of the Rome Downtown Development Authority.

Public safety and community partners will team up to host Treats Not Streets from 3 pm to 5:30 pm at the Rome-Floyd County Law Enforcement Center, 5 5 Government Plaza in downtown Rome. That event will be highlighted by a

kids costume contest at 4 pm.

Shasta Farrer, a Life and Fire Safety Educator with the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department, says that the Treats Not Streets event will be fun and free to the public!

Farrer adds that these opportunities in downtown Rome are likely to be safer for kids than canvassing random streets in search of treats.

Families may also head to Ridge Ferry Park on Halloween for Truck or Treat to be hosted by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.

According to an RFPR release –

Candy, costume contests and a spooky good time will be had on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ridge Ferry Park for the 2023 edition of Truck or Treat sponsored by Coca-Cola.
