THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS IN THE COUNTRY IS SET FOR THIS WEEKEND IN CAVE SPRING

The 20th anniversary edition of Small Town Christmas in the Country will be held over the weekend at Rolater Park in Cave Spring. Hours will be 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Admission will be free for this rain or shine event.

Susan Childers, co-organizer, anticipates the biggest festival yet with 230 arts and crafts vendors on hand.

Vendors will be located around the park and inside the Hearn Academy. The event will also feature appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Grinch, a scavenger hunt, on-site demonstrations, and more.

Amanda Smith, co-organizer (as well as Susan’s daughter), invites the public to spend the weekend at Small Town Christmas in the Country – it is a great place to get some Christmas shopping done.

Trolley rides will be offered from the former Cave Spring Elementary School to the park on Saturday only, courtesy of a partnership with the Rome Transit Department.

Small Town Christmas in the Country started two decades ago with an open house at the Childers’ home which has since grown into a full-blown holiday tradition at Rolater Park, muses Childers, who refers to herself as the event’s ‘accidental’ founder.
