Non-profit organizations are currently seeking year-end donations from the public. Among those non-profits – the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia. Carla Maton, Executive Director, says that anyone who gives a gift to the Red Cross over the holiday season will be given a gift; donations may be made online at www.redcross.org.
The donations will support things like disaster relief, smoke alarms for those in need, preparedness programs, and service to armed forces, according to Maton, who attests that 90 cents of every dollar donated to the Red Cross go towards such services.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors, according to its mission statement.
