Bogdan Bogdanovic led all players in scoring with a career-high 40 points off the bench for Atlanta.
Jamal Murray notched a team-high 29 points for the Nuggets, who snapped a three-game losing skid.
The Hawks will be in Toronto for a match against the Raptors on Wednesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
