CALL ISSUED FOR GEORGIA HISTORICAL RECORDS ADVISORY COUNCIL’S 2024 AWARDS

(Media release from Georgia Archives):

Do you know someone whose dedication to the world of historical records deserves recognition? Whether it’s an individual, historical society, library, museum, government entity, researcher, local historian, educator, or student, the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council (GHRAC) aims to honor their remarkable efforts and to inspire a commitment to the preservation of the state’s documentary heritage.

Since its inception in 2003, GHRAC’s Archives Awards Program has been recognizing outstanding efforts in archives and records work for the state of Georgia. By recognizing these excellent achievements, the Board also strives to inspire others to actively use, preserve, and make our state’s historical records more accessible in the course of their work.

GHRAC has identified several award categories for recognizing individuals and organizations. Award recipients will be honored during Archives Month in October by the GHRAC Board. The ceremony will be hosted by the Georgia Archives in Morrow, GA. Nominations may be submitted February 1 through June 1. They must be postmarked on or before June 1, 2024.
