January is observed annually as National Mentoring Month. Communities in Schools of Rome/Floyd County has seen first-hand over the past 30 years that mentors and the act of mentoring are worthy of the observance.

Wooten issues a call for individuals to get involved with CIS as a mentor or a volunteer. Training is provided.
Diana Cisneros, current Chair of the CIS Board of Directors, was once served by the organization. She attests that she knows first-hand that it is important for students have support at school and in life.
