In celebration of heart month and Wear Red Day for women’s heart health, AdventHealth Redmond is providing health information and screenings in Floyd and Polk counties.
On Friday, Feb. 2, AdventHealth team members will hand out heart healthy tips and giveaways to community members at the following Chik-fil-A locations from 7 to 9 am:
- Truett’s Chik-fil-A
264 Shorter Ave NW, Rome, GA 30165
- Chik-fil-A Cedartown
1610 Rome Hwy, Cedartown, GA 30125
- Chik-fil-A Rockmart
1500 Chattahoochee Dr, Rockmart, GA 30153
In addition, the AdventHealth Redmond AngioScreen bus will be parked at Truett’s Chik-fil-A from 7 am until 1 pm on Feb. 2. An AngioScreen is a noninvasive, 10-minute vascular screening designed to assess your risk of heart disease and stroke. In celebration of Hearth Month, participants can sign up for the special price of $55 (normally $85). Walk-ins are also welcome.
This painless 10-minute assessment delivers immediate results at the time of screening. An AngioScreen includes carotid artery screening ultrasound looking for plaque (the leading cause of stroke), 5 lead EKG of the heart rhythm, ankle brachial indices and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening. If you have any of the following risk factors, you should consider scheduling your screened today:
- Age 55 or above
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- History of smoking
- Family history of stroke
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Family history of heart attack
- A personal medical history of other cardiovascular issues
