FLOYD COUNTY EMA EDUCATES LOCALS ON EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS VIA ITS SAFE ACADEMY

The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency continues to encourage locals to participate in its SAFE Emergency Preparedness Academy. Classes are held twice a month from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesdays at the Emergency Operations Center located on East 12th Street in Rome.

Tim Herrington, Floyd EMA Director, says that CPR and First Aid will be the focus of future sessions.

The Georgia Emergency Management/Homeland Security Agency assisted with a session about Preliminary Damage Assessment last week, according to Herrington.

Storm and Disaster Clean Up Safety will be the subject of the next session to be held on Tuesday, March 5th. Get additional information and register online at
