March is observed annually as Red Cross Month. The American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia is taking advantage of this opportunity to educate the public about the organization’s mission and how to get involved, according to Carla Maton, Executive Director.
Maton attests that there are many ways to support the Red Cross, like serving as a volunteer or making a donation to its disaster relief efforts. House fires are the most common disasters in the Rome area.
Concerned citizens may additionally contribute to the non-profit by donating blood or by serving as a volunteer at blood drives, indicates Maton.
The American Red Cross also provides training and certification, service to armed forces, and international services.
