(Announcement from Floyd County Emergency Management):
Norfolk Southern will close the rail crossing at Byrd Station Road starting Monday March 25 for repairs.
The crossing will be closed to all traffic, which will require anyone traveling on Byrd Station Road to identify detours for possibly two days. The railroad plans to install new rail at the crossing and resurface the tracks.
Byrd Station Road is located in Silver Creek off of the southern end of Old Rockmart Road, connecting with Fish Creek Road in Polk County.
