ROME CLOCKTOWER PUBLIC TOURS TO BE HELD APRIL 6TH

Tickets are available for public tours of the Rome Clocktower to be hosted by the Rome Area History Center on Saturday, April 6th.

All tours that were originally planned for May, June, September, and October have been canceled because of upcoming SPLOST-funded renovations of the Clocktower, states Kristi Kent, Director of Communications for the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism. Therefore, she adds, April 6th will be the sole tour date for this year.

The Clocktower is over 150 years old and in great need of structural repair at this time, says Kent.

Clocktower tours on April 6th cost $10 per ticket; that money will go toward restoration efforts, attests Kent.

Purchase tickets online at: RomeGeorgia.org/ClocktourTour. The tickets are required for entry and are available in 30-minute time slots between 1 pm and 3 pm.

The ticket service provider charges a ticket fee for all of the tickets purchased online. Tour participants may avoid these fees by purchasing their tickets in-person at both Georgia’s Rome Welcome Center and Gift Shop locations on Jackson Hill at 402 Civic Center Drive and in Downtown Rome at 303 Broad Street.

There is a limit of 20 people atop the Clocktower at a time. Participants are urged to please arrive on time, as tickets are only valid during the time block reserved.

Those with questions about the public tours of the Rome Clocktower set for April 6th may call the Rome Area History Center at (706) 235-8051.
