ROME-FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH INVITES THE PUBLIC TO THE 2ND ANNUAL ‘ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 3RD GRADER?’ AWARENESS FUNDRAISER SET FOR APRIL 18TH

The Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth is just a week away from its 2nd annual “Are You Smarter Than A 3rd Grader?” Awareness Fundraiser. The event will take place next Thursday, April 18th at 6 pm at the Rome City Auditorium.

Local celebrities will find out if they are, in fact, smarter than a 3rd grader in this event which was inspired by the TV show “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?”. LaDonna Collins, Executive Director, says that the Commission is extremely excited about it.

Check out profiles of this year’s celebrity contestants on the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth page on Facebook. These adults will compete against 3rd graders from local schools, says Collins.

Tickets are available online at www.givebutter.com/ayst3 at a cost of $10 for each adult and $5 for students ages 5-17. Donations are also accepted on that site. Ticket prices will increase at the door.

Funds raised from this event will be used to promote the Commission’s goal of improving school success with a focus on early childhood literacy, mainly via the Books, Barbers and Beauticians Initiative.
