CHIEFTAINS MUSEUM/MAJOR RIDGE HOME TO HOST A SUMMER CAMP FROM JUNE 3RD TO 7TH

Summer camp season is approaching. The Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home encourages parents to register their kids for its Summer Camp, set for June 3rd through 7th. Sessions will be held daily from 9 am until 12 pm at the museum, located at 501 Riverside Parkway in Rome.

Local 2nd through 5th graders are invited to attend Chieftains’ Summer Camp, enthuses Olivia Cawood, Executive Director, who adds that participants will learn about Cherokee culture ranging from food and agriculture to games and music.

The cost to participate is $150 per student. Online registration is available at www.chieftainsmuseum.org/events/summer-camp. Members of the museum receive a $25 discount. Members and would-be members are urged to email [email protected] or call (762) 327-6124 before registering to receive a discount code.

The Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home is a National Historic Landmark and one of just a few private entities certified by the National Park Service as a site on the Trail of Tears.
