ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN NL EAST SERIES WITH SHUT OUT WIN OVER MIAMI MARLINS

The Atlanta Braves blanked the Miami Marlins 3-0 on Monday night in the first meeting of a three-game National League East set at Truist Park.

Ronald Acuna Jr. notched his 190th career stolen base during the first inning to set a new Atlanta-era record for stolen bases.

Travis d’Arnaud got the Braves on the board with a two-run homer during the bottom of the fourth. David Fletcher had an RBI single in that same inning.

Bryce Elder was the winning pitcher for Atlanta after giving up eight hits, walking none, and striking out four through six and two-third innings. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save. Ryan Weathers took the loss for Miami.
