ATLANTA BRAVES DROP SERIES OPENER AT SEATTLE VERSUS MARINERS

The Atlanta Braves opened up six-game road trip out west with a loss to the Seattle Mariners by 2-1 on Monday night in the first match of a three-game set in Seattle, WA.

The Braves opened the scoring in the top of the seventh inning with an RBI double from Ozzie Albies which drove Ronald Acuna Jr. to home plate.

However, the Mariners secured the victory with a two-run walk-off homer by Mitch Garver in the ninth.

AJ Minter was charged with the loss for Atlanta, whose starting pitcher Max Fried walked two and struck out seven in six no-hit innings. Austin Voth was credited with the win for Seattle, whose starter Bryce Miller gave up only one run and two hits, walked one, and struck out 10 in seven innings.
