The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, located at 412 Lavender Drive, will host a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Event on Saturday, May 11th at 9 am. Appointments are required and may be made online via the SignUpGenius link at www.floydcountyga.gov or by telephone at (706) 291-5266.
Emma Wells, Director of Solid Waste for Floyd County, says that HHW items
usually collected at these events include liquids such as used motor oil, paint, herbicides and pesticides.
Electronic items typically collected include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral type equipment like printers and keyboards.
The event is for Rome/Floyd residents only. Attendees must provide proof of residency, such as a vehicle tag, license, or utility bill.
Early appointment times prior to 1 PM will be filled first, and additional appointment times up to 2:45 PM will be added on an as-needed basis.
