KELENIC HOMERS AS ATLANTA BRAVES SNAP THREE-GAME LOSING SKID WITH WIN AT HOME OVER BOSTON RED SOX

The Atlanta Braves snapped a three-game losing skid with a 4-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday evening in the first outing of a two-game set at Truist Park.

The Braves opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with a two-run homer by Jarred Kelenic, his first of the 2024 regular season.

The Red Sox tied the game with a couple of runs during the top of the sixth on a bases-loaded walk to Reese McGuire and an RBI single by Ceddanne Rafaela. Marcell Ozuna had an RBI single that allowed the Braves to again take the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Orlando Arcia added insurance with an RBI groundout in that inning, and the Braves went on to beat the Red Sox, again, by a final score of 4-2.

Joe Jimenez picked up the win in relief for Atlanta, while Raisel Iglesias got the save. Justin Slaten was charged with the loss for Boston.
The Braves will wrap up their series versus the Red Sox tonight at 7:20 pm. Listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 6:05 pm.
