ATLANTA BRAVES SWEEP SERIES WITH SHUTOUT WIN OVER BOSTON RED SOX

The Atlanta Braves shut out the Boston Red Sox by 5-0 on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game set at Truist Park. That allowed Atlanta to sweep the series.

Marcell Ozuna got the Braves on the board with a three-run homer during the bottom of the first inning. Orlando Arcia followed that with home run of his own. Ozuna clubbed another home run in the third, his MLB-leading 12th homer of the season.

Chris Sale secured the win for Atlanta against his former team after giving up six hits, walking one, and striking out 10 through six scoreless innings. Nick Pivetta was charged with the loss for Boston.

The Braves are off today and will return to action on Friday evening with the first of three National League East outings in New York against the Mets. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm. Listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 5:55 pm.
