AMERICAN RED CROSS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO PROVIDE DISASTER RELIEF THIS HURRICANE SEASON

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to be above average. The American Red Cross seeks volunteers to assist with hurricane relief efforts throughout the season, says Carla Maton, Executive Director of the Northwest Georgia chapter. She adds that hundreds of Red Cross volunteers have already been deployed out to Texas to assist those impacted by Beryl.

The Atlantic hurricane season began on June 1st and will end on November 30th.

Those unable to deploy may serve the Red Cross by volunteering to provide relief to locals impacted by disasters like house fires, adds Maton. Potential volunteers may seek more information at www.redcross.org.
