If you see the Salvation Army’s bell ringers in front of local stores over the holidays, make sure to drop some change in their kettles.
The Salvation Army of Rome’s annual Red Kettle Campaign is underway through Christmas Eve. Proceeds will go towards the non-profit’s operating expenses throughout the year.
Major Hank Harwell, Corps Officer, says that bell ringers are still sought to assist with this year’s campaign.
Concerned citizens that would like to pitch in their assistance are directed by Harwell to visit www.registertoring.com.
Bell ringers accept cash and change in their red kettles. A QR code is posted on each kettle stand that allows donors to make a contribution via cell phone, enthuses Major Harwell.
The Red Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army’s biggest and most visible fundraiser of the year, attests Major Harwell.
The Salvation Army of Rome serves Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties. For more information, call (706) 291-4745.
Harwell adds that the non-profit also seeks assistance this year with its Angel Tree program, which provides gifts to kids and seniors in need.
