ROME-FLOYD CHAMBER PRESIDENT AND CEO PLEASED WITH INCOMING GDOL COMMISSIONER AND RESULTS FROM RECENT COMMUNITY SURVEY

Pam Powers-Smith, President and CEO of the Rome-Floyd Chamber, is pleased with the recent appointment by Governor Brian Kemp of Barbara Rivera Holmes to serve as the new Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor.

As former President and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, Rivera-Holmes is a friend to the Rome-Floyd Chamber, according to Powers-Smith.

Rivera-Holmes will be sworn into office on April 4th and will complete the remainder of the term won in 2022 by Bruce Thompson, who passed away in November.

Powers-Smith is also happy with the public’s response to the recent Rome-Floyd Community Survey, for which results were unveiled during a State of City and County event held by the Chamber on Wednesday. She thanks the nearly 4,000 people that responded to the survey.

Rome City Manager Sammy Rich and Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord also provided updates during Wednesday’s session.
