It may not be starting the way they initially planned, but the Rome Emperors’ 2025 season is here. The team will play their season opening set in Winston Salem, NC versus the Dash over the weekend.
Rome was originally scheduled to begin the season on their home field, but a burst pipe in the clubhouse earlier this week led to significant water damage and necessitated a relocation. Gavin Booker, play-by-play announcer for the Emperors on MiLB.tv, says that the ultimate goal is safety.
Booker anticipates that although the Emperors won’t be in front of the fans at home, they will have a great beginning to the season at Winston Salem.
This weekend’s series at Winston Salem will be followed by six games up in Bowling Green, KY versus the Hot Rods next Tuesday through Sunday. The team’s home opener is now scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th at AdventHealth Stadium against the Asheville Tourists. For tickets and more information, visit www.goemperors.com.
