ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN SERIES IN TORONTO WITH WIN OVER BLUE JAYS

The Atlanta Braves beat the Toronto Blue Jays by 8-4 on Monday evening in the opener of a three-game set in Toronto, Canada.

Austin Riley led the charge with two home runs, to include a two-run shot in the top of the third inning and three-run bomb during the fifth. Sean Murphy clubbed a two-run homer to get the Braves on the board in the first.

Grant Holmes picked up the win for Atlanta after surrendering just three runs and two hits, walking two, and striking out four through seven and two-third innings of work. Easton Lucas was charged with the loss for Toronto.
