ROME-FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 3RD GRADER?” GAME SHOW FUNDRAISER THIS THURSDAY

The Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth’s 3rd annual “Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader?” Game Show Fundraiser will take place this Thursday at 6 pm at the Rome City Auditorium.

Jennifer Jolly, Executive Director, states that event proceeds will support the Commission’s efforts to improve school success and strengthen family bonds.

The game-show fundraiser is based on the television show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader”. Jolly says that this event is focused on 3rd grade because that is a time when students move from learning to read to reading to learn.

Local celebrities will find out if they are, in fact, smarter than a 3rd grader in Thursday night’s competition. Parker Collins and Aria Schweitzer, 3rd grade contestants, think not.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students. Supporters may visit www.givebutter.com/P4PIe1 to purchase tickets and donate to the fundraiser.
