GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES: NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE PLANS FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Memorial Day weekend will be here in just over a month, and Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites anticipate a plethora of visitors ready to usher in the ‘unofficial start to Summer’.

Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, encourages campers to check out www.gastateparks.org to find out if any reservations are still available for the holiday weekend and even make reservations for next year. Day trippers are advised to visit the parks early to avoid the crowds.

And before the observance of Memorial Day, we will celebrate Mothers Day. Hatcher recommends that the celebration include time in the great outdoors at a state park or learning about history at a state historic site.
