The Atlanta Braves concluded a six-game road trip on Wednesday with a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Rockies in the finale of a three-game set at Coors Field in Denver, CO. The Braves were denied a sweep of the series and settled for a 4-2 record during their road trip, while the Rockies snapped an eight game losing skid with only their fifth win of the season.
Colorado scored the first run of the day in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI groundout by Sean Bouchard. Atlanta tied the game at 1-1 on an RBI groundout from Michael Harris II in the top of the third.
However, Brenton Doyle had a solo home in the bottom of that inning to put the Rockies ahead by 2-1, the final score by which they would go on to win the game.
Chris Sale was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up just two runs and five hits, walking none, and striking out 10 through seven innings. Chase Dollander picked up the win and Zachary Agnos got the save for Colorado.
The Braves have a scheduled off-day today and will return to Truist Park in Atlanta on Friday evening to open a seven-game homestand with the first of three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. First pitch is set for 7:15 pm. Listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 6 pm.
