ROME-FLOYD PARKS AND RECREATION NOW PREPARING FOR SUMMER FUN

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is now preparing for Summer fun at the Northside Swim Center, Summer Camps, and the Ridge Ferry Park Farmer’s Market.

Private rentals at the Northside Swim Center will begin Tuesday, May 20th, according to Lindsey Jones, Recreation Services Manager. Public swim will begin on Saturday, May 24th.

Call Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation at (706) 291-0766 for information on pool rentals.

And it is almost time for Summer Camp! Jones enthuses that a wide variety of camps will be offered to kids this year, including a new Magic Camp.

A complete list of camps and registration for each are available online at www.rfpra.com.

The Ridge Ferry Park Farmer’s Market will open for the season on Saturday, June 7th and will remain open every Saturday and Wednesday from 7 am until 11 am through September 27th. Shoppers will be able to select from a variety of farm fresh items, says Jones.

Those interested in becoming a vendor at the Farmer’s Market anytime during the season may find an application on the parks and rec website. Vendor fees are $10 per day.

Also this Summer, the Patriotic Party in the Park will return to Ridge Ferry Park on Friday, July 4th. That will be highlighted by a fireworks display from atop Jackson Hill that will be visible throughout town, enthuses Jones.
