The Atlanta Braves were shut out by the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 2-0 on Tuesday night in the first meeting of a three-game National League East set in Philadelphia.
The Phillies scored their first run of the evening on an RBI double from Max Kepler in the bottom of the second inning. JT Realmuto walked in run in the eighth.
Bryce Harper exited the game early after being hit by a pitch from Spencer Strider; x-rays came back negative.
Strider was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up one run and one hit, walking four, and striking out seven through four and two-third innings. Ranger Suarez got the win and Jordan Romano was credited with the save for Philadelphia.
The Braves are 25-28 on the 2025 regular season and remain in third place of the National League East, while the Phillies lead the division with a record of 35-19. The Rome Emperors picked up a 13-6 victory over the Asheville Tourists on Tuesday evening in the opener of a six-game series at AdventHealth Stadium. They improved to 24-22 on the 2025 season and are now tied with the Hub City Spartanburgers for second place in the South Atlantic League’s South Division; both teams are a half game back from the first place Bowling Green Hot Rods.
