Summer break may have only just started for local students, but Empowered Elegance is already thinking about homecoming.
Empowered Elegance is a non-profit with a mission to make milestones such as homecoming and prom special for under-resourced girls in the community. They achieve this mission through the provision of dresses and accessories to those who qualify.
Cristin Warden, co-founder, says that homecoming will happen quickly after the next school year begins. Now is the time to prepare for it.
The public may provide assistance by donating gently used dresses, shoes, or accessories, contributing money, and/or by volunteering. Kelli Barnes, Co-founder, urges interested parties to visit www.empoweredelegancega.org and contact the organization to get information about volunteer opportunities, to donate, or to recommend a young lady that may benefit from the program.
Shorter dresses appropriate for homecoming are particularly sought at this time, though longer, more formal dresses for prom will certainly be accepted, says Warden.
Empowered Elegance will treat young ladies to the full boutique experience at its Homecoming Pop-Up event, which has been scheduled for September 19th and 20th at Seven Hills Fellowship in downtown Rome.
