The Atlanta Braves snapped a seven-game losing skid on Monday evening with a 7-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three game set in Milwaukee, WI.
The Braves scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning on a home run by Ronald Acuna Jr and a two-run shot from Matt Olson. Eli White clubbed a two-run homer during the eighth, and Marcell Ozuna drove in a pair with an RBI single in the ninth.
The Brewers’ lone run of the night was courtesy of an RBI single by William Contreras in the bottom of the third.
Chris Sale was credited with the win for Atlanta after giving up just one run and five hits, walking two, and striking out 11 through seven innings. Aaron Civale was charged with the loss for Milwaukee.
