The Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers by 6-2 on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game set in Milwaukee, WI. That allowed the Braves to take the series by two games to one.
Michael Harris II got Atlanta on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the second inning, during which Drake Baldwin added an RBI single. The Brewers got on the board in the bottom of that inning with a solo home run from Rhys Hoskins. Ronald Acuna Jr. had a two-run homer to increase the Braves’ lead to 5-2 in the fourth.
Ozzie Albies had an RBI single for the Braves in the seventh. Eric Haase had an RBI double for the Brewers in the eighth.
Spencer Schwellenbach pitched a complete game to earn the win for Atlanta. He gave up two runs and five hits, walked none, and struck out nine. Chad Patrick was charged with the loss for Milwaukee.
The Braves have a scheduled off-day today and will be back at Truist Park in Atlanta on Friday night to open a six-game homestand with the first of three games versus the Colorado Rockies. The Rome Emperors were defeated by the Greensboro Grasshoppers by 9-5 in 10 innings on Wednesday night in the second meeting of a six-game set at AdventHealth Stadium. It was the sixth straight loss for Rome and the third win in a row for Greensboro. Those teams will meet again this evening; first pitch is scheduled for 7 pm.
