ATLANTA BRAVES’ LATEST WINNING STREAK ENDS AT THREE IN A ROW WITH SUNDAY LOSS TO COLORADO ROCKIES, ROME EMPERORS WRAP UP HOMESTAND WITH LOSS TO GREENSBORO GRASSHOPPERS

The Atlanta Braves lost to the Colorado Rockies by a final score of 10-1 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. It denied a sweep of the weekend series for the Braves, who also saw their latest winning streak end at three straight games.

Grant Holmes was charged with the loss for Atlanta, even though he notched a total of 15 strikeouts. He surrendered three runs (two earned) and two hits over six and a third innings of work, as well as walked a pair. Jake Bird was credited with the win for Colorado.

A game-tying RBI single from Marcell Ozuna in the sixth accounted for the Braves’ lone run of the game. The Rockies answered with a six-run seventh and a three-run eighth.

The Braves have a scheduled off-day today and will continue their current six game homestand on Tuesday night with the opener of a three-game National League East set versus the New York Mets. The Rome Emperors fell to the Greensboro Grasshoppers by 10-1 on Sunday in the finale of a six-game set at AdventHealth Stadium. Greensboro took the series by 5-1.

The Emperors are off today and will be back in action on Tuesday night with the opener of a six-game series in Winston-Salem, NC versus the Dash.
