The Atlanta Braves completed the sweep of a three-game National League East set versus the New York Mets on Thursday night with a 7-1 win in the finale at Truist Park.
The Mets scored the first run of the night in the top of the second inning on an RBI single by Ronny Mauricio. The Braves tied it at 1-1 on an RBI single from Ozzie Albies in the bottom of the fourth. They took the lead on a bases-loaded walk by Drake Baldwin in the fifth, during which Albies also walked in a run. Matt Olson clubbed a three-run double during the sixth. Baldwin drove in the Braves’ seventh and final run of the night with an RBI single in that inning.
Spencer Strider was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just one run and five hits, walked one, and struck out eight in six innings. Clay Holmes took the loss for New York.
Thus ends a six-game homestand that resulted in a total of five wins and one loss for the Braves, who improved to 34-39 on the 2025 regular season. They will begin a seven-game road trip this evening with the first of three NL East games in Miami, FL versus the Marlins. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 pm. The Rome Emperors’ game scheduled for Thursday night in Winston Salem, NC versus the Dash was canceled due to unplayable field conditions. It will not be rescheduled. The teams will resume their shortened series this evening at 6:30 pm.
The Emperors’ series at Winston Salem will continue through Sunday.
