ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN SERIES IN NEW YORK WITH WIN OVER METS

The Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets by 3-2 on Monday night in the first meeting of a four game National League East set in New York. Atlanta is now 4-0 versus New York this season.

Michael Harris II got the Braves on the board with a sac fly in the top of the second inning. Ronald Acuna Jr. had a home run to lead off the third. Sean Murphy drove in another run with a sac fly in that inning to make it 3-0 in favor of the Braves. Juan Soto hit a two-run homer for the Mets during the bottom of the sixth.

Spencer Schwellenbach was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just two runs and four hits, walked one, and struck out four over seven innings. Dylan Lee earned the save. Paul Blackburn took the loss for New York.

The Braves improved to 36-41 on the 2025 regular season and remain in third place of the NL East. The Mets are in second place of the division at 46-33.
