Summer has arrived with a sweaty bang in Rome, GA. Temperatures are predicted by the National Weather Service to soar into the mid to upper 90s with heat index values into the 100s throughout this week.
Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, urges the public to refrain from leaving pets or kids in hot cars amid this sweltering heat.
Also, keep an eye on the elderly. If they are in need of fans to help them stay cool, Herrington says that Floyd EMA can help.
