The Atlanta Braves concluded a seven-game road trip on Thursday evening with a shutout loss to the New York Mets by 4-0 in the finale of a four-game National League East set in New York. The Braves settled for a split in their series versus the Mets and went 3-4 during the road trip.
The Mets scored a run during the bottom of the fourth inning on a sac fly by Tyrone Taylor, another in the fifth on an RBI single by Pete Alonso, and two more on an RBI single by Jeff McNeil in the seventh.
Grant Holmes was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up two runs and six hits, walking three, and striking out six through five innings. Austin Warren picked up the win for New York.
Atlanta is now 37-43 for the 2025 regular season and remains in third place of the NL East. New York is back in the top spot in the division with a record of 48-34 and a half game lead over the second place Philadelphia Phillies. Up next for the Braves – a set versus the Phillies over the weekend at Truist Park. First pitch of tonight’s series opener is scheduled for 7:15 pm. The Rome Emperors lost to the Greenville Drive by 2-1 in 11 innings on Thursday night in game three of a six-game set at AdventHealth Stadium. That gave Greenville a 2-1 lead in the series. Game four is on tap for this evening at 7 pm.
