Media release from AdventHealth Redmond:
AdventHealth Redmond is proud to announce that Katie Rogers, RN, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a recognition that celebrates the compassionate care nurses provide every day.
Katie, a recent nursing graduate, has already made a profound impact on her patients and colleagues. One heartfelt nomination from a patient captures the essence of Katie’s dedication:
“From day one, Katie has treated me like family and not just a patient or number. She has gone above and beyond to make sure [that] if I needed anything that I was taken care of. Her love for God and her patients shines so bright. She said she had just graduated, but you would think she had done this for years. She always tells me it is my honor to have the pleasure of taking care of you. What she didn’t know was that I looked forward to every day that I knew she would be my nurse. She is an absolute diamond, and I hope she knows the impact she has made on my life and my daughters. She is most definitely family to us now and forever.”
Katie’s compassion, professionalism and heartfelt approach to patient care exemplify the spirit of the DAISY Award. Her ability to connect with patients, even early in her career, is a testament to her calling as a nurse.
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond in their service to patients and families. Katie joins a distinguished group of nurses across the country who have demonstrated excellence in clinical skill and extraordinary compassion.
