ROME-FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH LOOKS FORWARD TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR

A new school year is rapidly approaching. Jennifer Jolly, Executive Director of the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth, offers some encouragement to local teachers and students – rest and relax during the final days of Summer break and get ready for the 2025-26 school year.

Not long after the school year begins, the Floyd County Teen Maze will be held. Plans are already in the making for that event, set for this October at Georgia Highlands College. Jolly says that ninth graders will learn about the consequences of their choices in this ‘game of life’, which is presented by the Commission and its community partners.

The Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth teams up with agencies and families to ensure that local children grow up to be productive citizens, according to its website. Its vision is to empower children and youth to reach their full potential via collaboration, advocacy, and visibility.
